For as long as I can remember, I have been a writer.
It took me a really long time to get comfortable with calling myself a “writer.” Despite meeting all of the criteria, it wasn’t until my first workshop with Literary Cleveland that I really felt it settle in. Our instructor did not make a big fuss of it, they just simply said “you are a writer.” Those four words were an affirmation I never knew I needed to hear - you would have thought they shared with the meaning of life the way my eyes opened.
In truth, I’ve been journaling since I was a child; I would occasionally write poems or make comics with friends, but putting my feelings down on paper was always the best way for me to make sense of them. It wasn’t much of a surprise then that I exceled in that area in school and for over a decade, I have somehow managed to always incorporate writing into my job responsibilities.
Now I want to pursue this passion with the same vigor I have for everything else I want.
I look forward to sharing more with you.
